BMW runs over GHMC staffer at Banjara Hills, driver flees with car

A BMW car hit a GHMC employee in Banjara Hills on Wednesday afternoon. The driver of the car, who is believed to be a woman, fled the scene after the accident. The victim, identified as G Bala Chander Yadav, is a circle manager with the GHMC. He sustained serious injuries and is currently in critical condition.
The accident took place at around 4:05 am on Road No 13 in Banjara Hills. According to eyewitnesses, the BMW car was speeding and the driver lost control of the vehicle. The car hit Yadav, who was crossing the road, and then sped away. Yadav was taken to a nearby hospital, where he is undergoing treatment. The police have registered a case and are investigating the matter. They are also looking for the driver of the BMW car. There are also pending challans for rash driving.

Eyewitness account
Venkata Swamy, NSUI state vice president and close friend of the victim said, āYadav goes to work at 4 am every day. As usual, Yadav was on his way to work when he was hit by a car which had four women passengers.ā
Swamy added, āThe women were drunk and were smoking in their car. They were driving rashly and they hit Yadavās vehicle. The women stopped their car for a few minutes, but then sped away.ā
Police investigation
Speaking to NewsMeter, Banjara Hills Police Inspector M Narender said, āWe have verified the CCTV footage and enquired with the management of KNR Constructionāthe company that the car is registered to. The management informed us that they had sold the car five months ago.ā
The police have asked the management of KNR Construction company to visit the police station for further enquiry. The police registered a case and are trying to track down the current owner of the car.
In recent months, this is the second hit-and-run case in Banjara Hills. In January, a woman was killed after she was hit by a car that was speeding away from a traffic signal. The police are urging motorists to drive carefully and obey traffic laws.
