Hyderabad: Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) Managing Director VC Sajjanar has warned that strict legal action will be taken against anyone attacking RTC staff.
The warning came after driver Vidya Sagar, from Bandlaguda depot, was beaten by unidentified individuals following a fatal road accident involving a Route No 300 ordinary bus on June 19 near Pillar No 198, Attapur.
He also added that rowdy sheets will be opened against those responsible, with the cooperation of the police department

The accident occurred when the door of a parked car on the roadside reportedly opened suddenly, causing a passing two-wheeler to lose control and fall under the rear wheels of the RTC bus. A pregnant woman riding a bike died on the spot.
Despite having no fault in the incident, the bus driver was assaulted and verbally abused by a group of individuals. RTC constables Bhaskar and Mufakkar Ali, who were passing by after their shift, rescued the injured driver and took him to the local police station. He was later shifted to Tarnaka RTC Hospital for treatment.

MD visits hospitalised driver, assures full support
On Monday, MD VC Sajjanar visited the driver at the hospital, inquired about his health and the details of the incident. He assured the driver that the corporation would stand by him and urged staff not to fear such incidents.
Police register case against attackers
Based on a complaint filed by RTC officials, the Attapur Police under Cyberabad Commissionerate registered a case under sections 121(1), 126(2), 115(2), 352, and 351(2) of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) against the accused.
Sajjanar condemned the attack and said, “It is unfortunate that public service employees are being targeted. The management will not tolerate such acts that affect the morale and mental well-being of our staff. We will pursue legal action to its fullest extent.”
