Hyderabad: The Hyderabad cyber crime police on Tuesday arrested a car dealer for cheating a bank to the tune of Rs. 95 lakhs.
The police were acting on a complaint filed by a senior manager of Canara Bank, Sultan Bazar branch, who said that Saket Talwar of Talwar Cars Pvt. Ltd, Banjara Hills had taken a loan of Rs. 95 lakhs from the bank in the guise of delivering a new car. Saket had then diverted the money and cheated the bank and misappropriated the money without delivering the car.
It was discovered that Saket had cheated several banks and financial institutions by furnishing fabricated invoices, insurance certificates, and creating fake temporary registrations and chassis numbers. Eight cases have been registered against him and his company.
On 8 August, a team consisting of an SI and two PCs of CCS apprehended the accused at Mavi Villa Arambol Beach in Goa and brought him to Hyderabad. He is being produced before the court for judicial remand.
