Hyderabad: Charminar Express derailed at Nampally railway station while arriving at platform 5.

The train collided with the side wall, causing partial damage to bogies S2, S3, and S6. Thankfully, the incident resulted in minor injuries for 10 passengers who were shifted to the Railway Hospital in Lalaguda for medical attention.



The derailment occurred as the train was making its way from Chennai to Nampally. Preliminary investigations suggest that the fault may lie with the locomotive pilot. Fortunately, a major catastrophe was averted as the train was moving at a slow pace upon reaching the station.

Better medical treatment for injured: Minister Ponnam

Transport & BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, has ordered an inquiry into the derailment of Charminar Express. Minister Prabhakar emphasized that the slight tilt of the rails likely prevented a more severe accident.

ā€œAs the in-charge minister of Hyderabad district, I have personally inquired about the causes of the incident with the authorities,ā€ stated Minister Ponnam Prabhakar.

Minister Prabhakar has directed the district officials to remain vigilant and take all necessary relief measures. Priority has been given to providing better medical treatment for the injured passengers.

The Minister asked officials to ensure that the injured receive proper medical care and assistance during their recovery.
