Hyderabad: With Christmas and New Year celebrations approaching, the Hyderabad City Police has placed its specialised SHE Teams on high alert, stepping up round-the-clock surveillance to ensure the safety and security of women and girls across the city.
Heightened vigil at crowded locations
As part of the festive security plan for Christmas and New Year 2026, SHE Teams have intensified patrolling and preventive checks at religious places, shopping hubs, tourist attractions, parks, transit points, event venues and other crowded public spaces.
Police personnel are maintaining a constant vigil to deter harassment and respond swiftly to any untoward incidents.
The advisory was issued by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Women Safety Wing), Dr Lavanya NJP, urged the public to stay alert and cooperate with police to ensure a safe and peaceful festive season in Hyderabad.
Focus on prevention and quick response
Officials said the emphasis is on proactive policing, visibility patrols and immediate intervention wherever required. The measures aim to ensure that women can participate in festive celebrations without fear and with a sense of security.
Safety advisory for women and girls
The police have issued a set of safety guidelines, advising women to:
