GHMC launches WhatsApp helpline to address C&D, garbage dumping complaints in Hyderabad
By Newsmeter Network
Hyderabad: Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has launched a dedicated WhatsApp helpline to address complaints related to construction and demolition (C&D) waste and garbage dumping.
The move is aimed at improving waste management and civic responsiveness.
Instant complaint registration at your fingertips
Residents who notice debris dumped in open areas or overflowing garbage bins can now report the issue directly through WhatsApp by messaging 81259 66586. Citizens can also share photos and their exact location, enabling officials to take quicker action.
This eliminates the need for physical visits to GHMC offices, making the grievance process more convenient and accessible.
Simple, fast, and paperless
The new WhatsApp service is designed to offer a user-friendly, contactless, and quick resolution mechanism for specific waste-related complaints. GHMC officials said the initiative aims to improve response time while reducing procedural delays.
Dedicated number for C&D waste and garbage only
GHMC clarified that this WhatsApp number is meant exclusively for issues concerning C&D waste and garbage dumping. Citizens are advised to continue using the "MY GHMC" mobile app for all other civic grievances, including drainage, streetlights, and road repairs.
Towards a Cleaner and Smarter Hyderabad
This initiative is part of GHMCās larger vision to enhance sanitation standards in the city and promote citizen participation in civic upkeep. By integrating digital platforms into routine governance, GHMC hopes to make complaint redressal more responsive and efficient.
Residents are encouraged to make use of the new service and contribute to keeping Hyderabad clean and livable, the GHMC officials said.
