Cloudy skies and showers ahead for Hyderabad
By Newsmeter Network
Hyderabad: Hyderabad and several parts of Telangana are expected to see a week of cloudy skies, moderate temperatures and intermittent rainfall, according to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD). Light to moderate showers, coupled with breezy conditions, are likely to persist until the weekend.
Weather Outlook: July 7-13
The IMD has forecast cloudy weather for most of the week, with daytime temperatures ranging between 29°C and 32°C and nighttime temperatures settling around 23°C to 24°C. Showers are expected in parts of the city and surrounding districts, especially during the early mornings and late afternoons.
āMoisture-laden winds from the Bay of Bengal are feeding into the region, leading to increased cloud cover and sporadic rainfall,ā said meteorologist KS Sridhar, speaking to NewsMeter. āWhile heavy rain is not expected, short spells of rain with gusty winds are likely, particularly early in the week.ā
Daily forecast summary
Monday, July 7: Overcast skies with chances of light rain in isolated areas, especially during the late afternoon.
Tuesday, July 8: Cloudy and breezy; brief thunderstorms possible in select parts of the city.
Wednesday, July 9: Partial clearing expected; skies may brighten as the day progresses.
Thursday, July 10: Morning showers possible, followed by steady cloud cover.
Friday to Sunday: A mix of sun and clouds with improving conditions; no significant rain forecast as of now.
Advisory for citizens
While no severe weather warnings have been issued, authorities urge citizens to exercise caution during peak rainfall hours. Commuters, especially two-wheeler riders, are advised to watch for slippery roads and waterlogging in low-lying areas.
Agriculture and urban planning impact
For farmers in surrounding districts, the weekās rainfall is expected to be beneficial, particularly in rainfed agricultural zones of Rangareddy, Vikarabad and Nalgonda.
āLight monsoon showers in July are important for early-stage sowing,ā noted Prof L Venkateshwar Rao, an agrometeorology expert. āHowever, the rains are currently patchy, and consistent follow-up showers will be needed to sustain crop growth.ā
Outlook beyond the week
While this week appears to bring moderate rainfall and manageable weather conditions, meteorologists are monitoring a low-pressure zone over the Bay of Bengal that could influence Telanganaās weather pattern later this month.
āRainfall activity may increase toward the third week of July if the system develops further,ā added Sridhar. āWeāll issue updated advisories as needed.ā
Hyderabad and much of Telangana will see a relatively stable monsoon week, cloudy, breezy, and interspersed with short rain spells. Authorities advise preparedness, while experts remain watchful of evolving monsoon dynamics.
