CM Revanth: Musi Project and Bharat Future City to make Hyderabad a global city by 2034
Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Wednesday said the government’s ambitious plans, such as the Musi River rejuvenation project and Bharat Future City, are aimed at transforming Hyderabad’s future, despite opposition criticism.
He also asserted that Hyderabad would emerge as one of the world’s leading cities by 2034, competing with global hubs like Tokyo and New York.
Foundation for new registrar offices
The Chief Minister was speaking after laying the foundation stone for the district registrar office and integrated registration office at Gachibowli.
“The government is modernising registration services by constructing integrated sub-registrar offices equipped with amenities on par with five-star hotels and international airports,” CM Revanth said.
He directed Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy to ensure the completion of 11 such offices by June 2, 2026, the State Formation Day.
Hyderabad’s global journey
CM Revanth drew parallels between today’s criticism of his projects and the scepticism that greeted the construction of Hitech City in the past.
“If globally renowned companies have set up here, it is because of the vision of leaders like Rajiv Gandhi and the Congress governments that laid the foundation for IT growth,” he said.
The chief minister also added that Hyderabad is no longer competing with Bengaluru or Chennai but with global cities like Tokyo and New York.

Reviving the Old City and Musi River
Calling the Old City the “original Hyderabad,” the Chief Minister said efforts are underway to restore its historic glory.
He reiterated his commitment to rejuvenating the Musi River by ensuring round-the-year water flow with Godavari water supply and developing the Musi Riverfront as a landmark project.
‘Vision 2047 for Telangana’
CM Revanth said the government has prepared a ‘Vision 2047’ document to guide the comprehensive development of Telangana.
He urged people to resist those opposing Hyderabad’s growth, calling them “enemies of development.” The expansion of the city, he said, is crucial to creating more employment opportunities for youth.

Budget commitment
Industry and IT Minister D Sridhar Babu also underlined the government’s resolve for Hyderabad’s development, pointing out that Rs 10,000 crore was earmarked in the state Budget exclusively for the city’s growth and infrastructure.
