Congress govt creates Kodangal Area Development Authority to develop CM Revanth’s constituency
KADA’s objective will be the overall development of the Kodangal Assembly Constituency covering Vikarabad and Narayanpet districts
By Newsmeter Network Published on 30 Dec 2023 10:26 AM GMTTelangana: The Congress-led Telangana State government has decided to create a Kodangal Area Development Authority (KADA) with Kodangal of Vikarabad district as headquarters. KADA’s objective will be the overall development of the Kodangal Assembly Constituency covering Vikarabad and Narayanpet districts, under the chairmanship of Vikarabad’s district collector.
It is pertinent to note that chief minister A Revanth Reddy is an MLA from Kodangal who won with a thumping majority in the 2023 State Legislative elections.
The government has also decided to appoint a special officer for the Kodangal Area Development Authority to function under the overall control of the district collector of Vikarabad and prepare a comprehensive master plan for the development of the Kodangal Constituency.
The responsibilities of KADA will include:
- Planning for the overall development of the area and convergence of government programmes.
- Undertaking basic infrastructure works/schemes such as laying of CC roads, CC drains, water supply schemes, electrification, street lighting etc.
- Undertaking innovative livelihood programmes for the enhancement of productivity and training for employment generation activities linked to skill upgradation.
- Creation of infrastructure for social development such as health, education etc., to achieve desired goals.
- Utilisation of all natural resources like soil and groundwater effectively to optimum levels.
- Undertaking water conservation works/schemes to ensure sustainable agricultural development.
- Establishing and promoting suitable industries, especially agro-based industries.
