Hyderabad: The city police have booked Congress candidate Inayat Fathima for misrepresenting facts in her nomination papers.
A close relative of senior Congress leader, she is contesting from Vijaya Nagar colony in GHMC elections
Based on a complaint from Musheerabad Tahsildar, police registered a case under section 420, 468, and 471 of the IPC and started investigation.
Sources said she had submitted a caste certificate certifying that Inayat Fathima belonged to BC-E category while filing the nomination papers. On verification, it was found that no file pertaining to Inayat was found in the Tahsildar office records.
Furthermore, in the Meeseva Server, when the officials tried to verify, it was found to be password protected and could not be accessed by the officials.
It was also found that she has filed the wrong personal details in the nomination including phone number, address, father's name and a deactivated Aadhar card.
It was also revealed that she has given the wrong information for getting a BC- certificate. Officials lodged a complaint with Musheerabad police station. Further investigation is underway.
