Hyderabad: In a relief to the BRS government, the Telangana High Court on Friday dismissed a petition that raised objections on the election affidavit filed by V Srinivas Goud, MLA and minister of State Government.

The petitioner alleged that the MLA suppressed information in the election affidavit related to an FIR registered against him in II Town Mahbubnagar police station. It is also alleged that some AIS (IAS and IPS) officers along with others on election duty helped him with the tampering of the election affidavit.

The writ petition was filed by Chaluvagali Raghavendra Raju who complained before the RO/RDO of Mahbubnagar regarding Srinivas Goudā€™s poll affidavit.

Avinash Desai, the standing counsel for the Election Commission of India (ECI) informed the Division Bench ā€“ Chief Justice Alok Aradhe and Justice Anil Kumar Jukanti ā€“ that the ECI had replied to the objections raised by the petitioner and there is no need to keep the writ petition pending before the court.

After hearing the arguments, the Chief Justice Bench dismissed the writ petition taking into consideration, the submission of the standing counsel for the ECI that the objections raised by the petitioner before the ECI were processed and answered.

The petitioner had impleaded Stephen Ravindra IPS, CP Cyberabad, Anjani Kumar DGP TS, Ronald Rose IAS, commissioner, GHMC, Aravind Kumar IAS, special chief secretary, Municipal Administration, AR Srinivas IPS, Addl. DG T State Police Academy and other officials to the writ petition.
