COVID-19 vaccination begins for Rachakonda cops, Commissioner Mahesh Bhagwat gets first shot
By Newsmeter Network Published on 6 Feb 2021 9:45 AM GMTHyderabad: The Rachakonda commissioner of police, Mahesh Bhagwat, inaugurated the COVID-19 vaccination session for Rachakonda police at Malkajgiri PHS on 6 February. He also took the first shot of the vaccine.
He said the police personnel of Rachakonda is distributed across the Medchal Malkajgiri, Ranga Reddy, Yadadri-Bhongir, and Hyderabad districts and they will be vaccinated at the vaccination centers identified by the concerned DMHOs in their respective districts.
While 48 vaccination centers have so far been identified in Rachakonda limits, the vaccination drive started in 30 centers on Saturday. Within the next four working days, everyone from Rachakonda will be vaccinated. A liaison officer has been appointed for each vaccination center in Rachakonda limits and a WhastApp group has also been created comprising medical officials and police officers for each district. The additional DCP admin Shilpavalli is the unit nodal officer who will coordinate and supervise the vaccination drive for all Rachakonda personnel.
Mr. Bhagwat urged everyone to take the vaccine without any fear and advised those with comorbidities to seek a doctor's advice. He appreciated the arrangements made at the PHC and instructed the SHOs concerned to ensure that all police personnel who get vaccinated are given snacks or fruits and ORS at the PHC.
The DMHO of Medchal Malkajgiri, Mallikarjun, said nearly 1,500 frontline officers are being vaccinated in the vaccination centers of the district. He said that in case of any medical emergency post-vaccination, a medical team and ambulance will be available at the centers.
