Hyderabad: A COVID positive youth has escaped from home isolation, setting alarm bells ringing in the Keesara area on the city outskirts. An employee of a private company, he was tested positive on Tuesday. On Wednesday, left home on the pretext of buying medicines but did not return.

Later his family lodged a missing report with the police station. Police suspect that he might have been under depression after testing positive.

According to police, the man is residing at TPS Krishna Nagar Colony in Godumakunta village. On May 16, he underwent a COVID test. On Tuesday, his report came back positive. Since he was asymptomatic, he was put under home isolation.

On Wednesday, he informed his mother that he was going out to buy medicine. However, he did not return home till night. They tried to contact him but in vain. Worried, the family lodged a missing complaint. Keesara police registered a case and started the investigation.
