Hyderabad: Customs Officials at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA), Shamshabad on Tuesday seized 1481.10 grams of gold worth Rs 72.80 lakhs from three passengers.
In the first case, 991 grams of gold, worth Rs 48.71 lakhs was seized from a female passenger who arrived by flight 6E 8422 from Dubai. The gold was concealed inside her undergarments in a paste form, Customs Official said.
In the second case, 168.5 grams of gold, worth Rs 8.28 lakhs was seized from a female passenger who arrived by flight J9-1403 from Dubai via Kuwait. The gold in paste form is concealed inside the rectum.
In the third case, 321.60 grams of gold worth Rs 15.81 lakhs were seized from a female passenger who arrived by flight 6E 8422 from Dubai. The gold in paste form is concealed inside her undergarments.
Further investigation is underway, the custom added.
