TGSRTC reduces ticket prices on E-Metro AC and Metro Deluxe AC buses
Hyderabad: In a major relief to commuters in the twin cities, the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) has reduced ticket fares in E-Metro AC and Metro Deluxe AC buses. The revised fares have come into effect from March 1.
What is the revised fare structure?
In the Metro Deluxe AC buses operating within the city, the ticket fare per stage (up to 4 km) was earlier Rs 30. It has now been reduced to Rs 25.
Similarly, in E-Metro AC buses, the fare for up to four kilometres, which was previously Rs 35, has been brought down to Rs 25 — a significant reduction of Rs 10 per ticket.
Fare cut to beat summer heat
The decision is expected to benefit thousands of daily passengers, especially as temperatures begin to soar with the onset of summer.
With rising temperatures and increasing humidity, commuters have been facing discomfort while travelling.
Anticipating a higher demand for air-conditioned buses during the summer season, TGSRTC has slashed fares to encourage more passengers to opt for AC services.
Extensive AC bus network in GHMC limits
Currently, 275 Metro Deluxe AC buses and 90 electric AC buses are operating across the Greater Hyderabad limits, catering to thousands of commuters daily.
With the fare reduction, TGSRTC officials expect a rise in passenger patronage for its AC services. The move is seen as both a commuter-friendly and strategic decision aimed at improving occupancy in premium city bus services during the peak summer months.
