Hyderabad: Cyberabad traffic police has come up with an innovative idea to avoid gridlock and ensure pedestrian safety at the Cyber Tower Junction in Madhapur.

Police with the help of GHMC have made yellow boxes that indicate the area where vehicles cannot stop. These boxes are meant to keep the junctions clear.

Police said that the yellow box makes it clear that you may enter the junction only when your exit is clear "Once you enter the yellow boxes you should not stop. Before entering the yellow box, you should see whether the traffic ahead is clear. You should not approach from the Kukatpally side while going to Kothaguda. If there is congestion ahead, don't enter the box," said AR Srinivas, DCP, Traffic, Cyberabad.

He added that this will guide pedestrians and vehicles in a better way and ensure that there is no logjam. The vehicle driver will also know where to stop the vehicle. This will improve the traffic system.

The DCP said traffic congestion happens due to chaotic behavior and indiscipline by the vehicle drivers. "This is one of the tools which will help in streamlining traffic," he said.
