Hyderabad: A total of 3,143 road accident cases were reported under Cyberabad Police Station limits in 2023, which is less compared to 3,224 cases at the end of 2022.

As per the annual report from Cyberabad Police, presented by Commissioner Avinash Mohanty on Saturday, the total reported crime cases in 2023 are 29,156, which is high compared to crimes recorded in 2022 i.e. 27,322. Crimes against women have decreased to 2,356 while it was 2,489 in 2022.

The total cognisable cases in 2023 are recorded at 22,859, which is high compared to 21,398 in 2022. Among these, the highest cases are reported under cheating: 6,777 in 2023 and 6,276 in 2022.




Here are some important cases registered by Cyber Crime police station in Cyberabad:

- Two persons were arrested from Surat in Gujarat and Mumbai of Maharashtra for advertisement fraud. Around Rs 15.6 lakhs was recovered from them and the police seized incriminating material from their possession.

- Two persons were arrested from Tirupati of Andhra Pradesh for loan fraud and the police recovered more than Rs 9.22 lakhs from them.

- Six were arrested from New Delhi for loan fraud and cash of more than Rs 41.23 lakhs was recovered from them, along with the seizure of incriminating material.

- Six persons were arrested from Kolkata in West Bengal for dating fraud.

- Seven persons were arrested from Delhi NCR, Patna of Bihar and Utter Pradesh for data theft fraud and incriminating material such as cell phones used were seized.

Enforcement on Drugs

In 2023, a total of 277 cases were registered, 567 persons were apprehended, two PD acts were invoked and large amounts of drugs were seized. The arrested include two suppliers, 550 peddlers/middlemen and 15 end users.

A total of 6,676 kg and 875 g of Ganja worth Rs 16,69,21,425 was seized.

A total of 13 litres and 279 ml of Hashish oil worth Rs 66,39,500 was seized.

A total of 507.54 g of cocaine worth Rs 1,01,50,800 was seized.

A total of 261.98 g of MDMA worth Rs 31,43,760 was seized.

A total of 1,750 g of Methaqualone worth Rs 1,05,00,000 was seized.

A total of 120 g of Alprozolam worth Rs 1,20,000 was seized.

A total of 26 kg and 937 g of Charas worth Rs 8,08,11,000 was seized.

In 2023, the total worth of drugs seized was Rs 27,82,86,585. In 2022, the total worth was Rs 12,42,03,765.

Traffic rules

A total of 44 Pelican signals were inaugurated in Cyberabad limits and 88 volunteers were deployed to operate these signals.

In 2023, 52,124 drunk and drive cases were booked and 1,271 violations among them were convicted.

In 2022, 57,175 drunk and drive cases were booked and 979 violations were processed.

In 2023, a total of 24,318 DLs (driving licenses) were sent for suspension in RTA cases.

In 2022, the total number of DLs sent for suspension was 32,238.




Women and Children Safety Wing

She Teams apprehended 2,587 persons in day and night decoy operations and counselled 3,032 respondents in 66 sessions. As many as 88 FIRs were filed and the accused were arrested. Around 2,580 petty cases were booked and nine child marriages were stopped.

Online decoy operations were taken out and 11 people were arrested.

Operation Smile and Muskaan are designed to identify missing children, child labour, bonded labour, begging, rag picking and trafficking children, rescue them and reunite them with their families. This year, 1,347 operations were carried out, and 1,829 children were rescued.

Prevention Acts

To prevent further offences the PD was invoked against 52 repeated offenders.




For keeping the peace and for good behaviour, security proceedings were initiated in 3,136 cases under sections 107, 109, and 110.
