Cybertowers-Kothaguda junction road closed for 15days: Check out traffic diversions

From December 14, vehicular traffic has been restricted from Cybertowers towards Kothaguda junction via CII junction for the next 15 days. GHMC is taking up road works at Kothaguda Junction under the limits of Gachibowli.

To facilitate the above works, the GHMC has devised a traffic diversion plan

1. The traffic coming from Cyber towers towards Kothaguda will be diverted at Metal Charminar Junction (Hitex) - right turn- Khanamet Junction - left turn - Aparna Heights - left turn- Kondapur Junction and Kothaguda Junction.

2. The traffic coming from CII junction towards Kothaguda, AMB mall, Masjidbanda, and Gachibowli will be diverted at Ramalayam Temple - White fields roads - U-turn - Botanical Garden and Kothaguda Junction.

Restriction of Heavy vehicles: Heavy Vehicles such as RMCs, Tippers, Water Tankers, RTC Buses, and DCMs are restricted from Cyber towers towards Kothaguda via Ramalayam Temple. The public are requested to cooperate with the work executing agency and the Traffic Police for the smooth functioning of the work.

Kothaguda flyover

The long-awaited Kothaguda flyover may open to the public in January 2023, according to GHMC. Once opened, the flyover will improve traffic flow at three major intersections—Botanical Gardens, Kondapur, and Kothaguda.

The Gachibowli-Miyapur route merges with a road from the Kothaguda intersection and Botanical Gardens and finishes near the RTO Kondapur Road. The multi-level flyover is being constructed by GHMC for Rs. 263.09 crores as part of phase 3 of the Strategic Road Development Plan (SRDP).

One four-lane ramp begins at the Marriott/SLN Terminus and finishes at the Botanical Gardens junction, while another two-lane ramp begins at the Botanical Gardens parking area and ends at the Botanical Gardens junction. From here, the five-lane unidirectional flyover passes through AMB Cinemas and goes towards Kothaguda junction, where it splits into two three-lane sections.

One section of the flyover leads to Kondapur junction and terminates at the Raghavendra Colony C Block arch, while the other leads to Hitech City and terminates before Hitex near Prestige Ivy League, a housing society.

The one-way flyover assists traffic from Gachibowli to Kondapur, Allwyn Colony, Miyapur, and other localities as well as traffic from Gachibowli to Hitech City and other regions. A unidirectional three-lane underpass near Kothaguda junction is being built for commuters from Kondapur to Gachibowli. The flyover will largely benefit commuters traveling to Gachibowli from Kondapur, Hafeezpet, and Miyapur.
