Hyderabad: In a brazen daylight heist, six masked and armed robbers stormed Khazana Jewellers in Chandanagar on Tuesday, opening fire on staff and injuring one employee before escaping with jewellery.
Masked gang strikes during business hours
The incident occurred around 10.40 am under the Cyberabad Police Station limits. Wearing masks, the gang entered the showroom, pointed a gun at the staff and demanded the locker keys.
When the assistant manager said he did not have them, one robber shot the deputy manager in the leg. The injured employee was rushed to the hospital soon after the help arrived.

CCTV targeted, jewellery looted
The robbers fired at CCTV cameras to destroy evidence, smashed display shelves and seized ornaments. One staff member discreetly called the police during the chaos. Spotting police teams approaching, the robbers fled on two-wheelers.
Two rounds fired, hunt on
Investigators believe at least two rounds were fired from a pistol.
The value of stolen jewellery has not yet been ascertained. Ten police teams have been formed to track the culprits, with CCTV footage from nearby areas under review. Checkposts on the city outskirts have been alerted.
Top brass inspects scene
Cyberabad Police Commissioner Avinash Mohanty visited the showroom along with forensic experts from the Clues team. Officers have recorded employee statements and collected details on the robbersā appearance, clothing and language.
Security concerns in jewellery markets
The daylight robbery in a busy commercial area has alarmed traders and shoppers, prompting calls for tighter security at jewellery stores across the city, public said.
