CJI made the suggestion while delivering a keynote address on Day 1 of the ISB Leadership Summit (ILS) 2022. The event took place on the ISB campus on September 24.
"As I was reaching this place a while ago, on the way I saw pictures of business leaders and others who have contributed to the establishment of this Business School. One picture that must find a place in a gallery is missing. He is Chandrababu Naidu who alone is responsible for this School," he said.
Former CJI stated that he has requested the dean that Naidu's photograph should be displayed.
"The way leaders from the business and consulting worlds came together to establish this institution is a story in itself," he said
"The state government, and particularly, the then Chief Minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh, Chandrababu Naidu, had provided resolute assistance for setting up of this school. Without his efforts, this Business School would not have been the successful institution that it is today," he said.
Ramana was the Additional Advocate General of the State of Andhra Pradesh when the proposal to establish ISB was still in the works.
"A major stumbling block was a petition filed against the Andhra Pradesh government questioning the acquisition of land for the project. I was deeply involved with strategizing the legal battle in close coordination with the government of the day," he recalled.
The High Court intervened eventually and upheld the grant of the land. Calling it one of 'greatest judgments', he advised all people to study it.
According to an ISB representative, the former CJI was referring to the 'History Wall' in ISB for displaying Chandrababu Naidu's picture. "Every three months, the pictures on the wall are revised." "We will undoubtedly post a picture of Naidu soon," the representative said.
