Hyderabad: The fire tragedy that occurred on July 11 in Domalaguda Rose Colony in Hyderabad has claimed more lives. Four people have died since the incident where a fire caused by gas leakage consumed a house and the family inside.
On the day of the fire, seven people, including three children, were seriously injured and were immediately taken to Gandhi Hospital for treatment. On July 12, Dhanalakshmiās daughter Sharanya passed away while receiving treatment for her severe injuries. She was six years of age. On July 14 morning, three more succumbed to their injuries at Gandhi Hospital, which includes Padma (53), Padmaās daughter Dhanalakshmi (28), and Dhanalakshmiās son Abhinav (7).
When the fire occurred, firefighters and Domalaguda police reached the scene in time and extinguished the fire. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team and officials from the Indian Gas company visited the site to assess the situation and provide necessary assistance.
The injured were transported to Gandhi Hospital for treatment. The house was completely destroyed, resulting in significant property loss for the affected family.
Preliminary investigations revealed that a non-regulation gas cylinder regulator caused the accident. The fire could have been avoided if the appropriate domestic gas cylinder regulator was used. This critical error resulted in a gas leakage while the residents were preparing sweets to celebrate the Bonalu festival.
The death toll from the gas leakage incident has now risen to 4. The injured are still in critical condition and are being closely monitored by the doctors.
