Don’t alter layout plan’: HYDRAA Commissioner Ranganath warns people

Hyderabad: HYDRAA Commissioner AV Ranganath has called upon the public not to change the layout plan at their convenience.

This comes after a section of people in the twin cities have changed the layout plan and encroached upon the roads, parks, and places meant for public use.

A total of 63 complaints were filed by the residents during the Prajavani, where most of them were about encroachment of roads, parks, and public spaces in the layouts.

Taking the matter seriously, Ranganath cautioned that stern action would be taken against them and directed the officials concerned to pay attention to this issue. Apart from complaints, the Commissioner also received an appeal from the residents of Divya Nagar layout to establish a HYDRAA police station in their locality.

A resident from Fertilizer Corporation Housing Society Limited said that the colony layout is located in an area of 20 acres in Survey Nos. 124 and 125 of Gachibowli, Serilingampally Municipality. A complaint was filed in Prajavani that the owner of Sandhya Convention, Sridhar Rao, is using the entire plot for commercial purposes by erasing the boundaries of roads and parks, erecting sheds and structures, and eroding the land. They urged Ranganath to show the plots and roads in their layout, and that they be restored.

A section of plot owners have complained that educationalist Nalla Malla Reddy has built sheds and structures by encroaching upon roads in the Divyanagar Layout of Pocharam Municipality in Ranga Reddy district. They also said that the Divya Nagar layout was changed in his favor, and construction was carried out as per his wishes.

Locals thanked the HYDRAA Commissioner for removing the fence around the 200-acre Divya Nagar Layout and making the roads free of restrictions. The landowners of the area, including Hanumantha Reddy and Jaipal Reddy, along with several others, submitted a petition to the Commissioner requesting that a HYDRAA Police Station be set up in the Divya Nagar Layout, which has a population of over 2,000, and that they would provide the necessary land for this.

Residents of the Masidubanda CMC enclave have also complained to HYDRAA that a person named Asif Patel has encroached on public spaces in the Kondapur and Masidubanda CMC enclaves within the limits of the Serilingampally Municipality and has undertaken construction.

Representatives of the GreenGrace Residents Society have complained to Hydra that their residential areas are being flooded with rainwater due to the closure of the flood canals leading to the Bhagirathamma Lake by filling them with soil in Thauthanikunta in the Serilingampally Municipality.

Residents have approached HYDRAA alleging that one acre was allocated for a park in the ten-acre layout of survey numbers 9 and 10 of Annojiguda village of Pocharam Municipality, and now plots are being built and sold there too. After going through the complaints, Ranganath conducted an online review of Google Maps and satellite images to see how they looked in the past and how they look now.

The HYDRAA Commissioner ordered the officials to check whether the structures had permits and remove them immediately.
