Hyderabad: HYDRAA Commissioner AV Ranganath urged the public not to purchase farm plots in the city suburbs in unauthorised layouts or in lands under the conflict of law.
During Prajavani held at his office, Buddha Bhavan, here on Monday, Ranganath said that, despite a ban on the registration of farm plots, many have complained that sales are taking place in some areas.
The HYDRAA commissioner said that they received a complaint that 1.02 acres in Lakshmiguda Village Survey No. 50, Rajendranagar Mandal, Rangareddy District, are being sold in the name of farm plots.
As mentioned in Telangana Municipal Act 2019 and Telangana Panchayat Raj Act 2018, farm plots are not for sale anywhere, he said.
Why is registration of farm plots banned?
Elaborating further, Ranganath said that farmland means 2,000 square meters or 20 guntas of land, which the government has already specified in the past.
The government has also given instructions to the Stamps and Registrations Department that registration of farm plots should not be done.
“The State government has made it clear that according to GO 131, no permission is given for building houses on the plots in the unauthorised layouts published after August 31, 2020. As per the HMDA regulations, 10 per cent of the land should be reserved for parks and 30 per cent for roads, but these regulations are not being followed anywhere and HYDRAA has come to know about these things through complaints,” Ranganath said.
HYDRAA police station
The HYDRAA police station will be operational mostly by the second week of March. The station will be located on the ground floor of Buddha Bhavan.
The department has also written to the High Court seeking a special separate court to hear these cases. The station will be inaugurated by chief minister A Revanth Reddy.
The main function of HYDRAA is to protect assets, such as lakes, nalas, parks, layout open spaces, playgrounds, government lands etc of Urban Development Authorities (UDA), Urban Local Bodies (ULBS) and Rural Local Bodies (RLBS).
At ground level, the agency consists of teams monitoring the functioning of parks and lakes. The jurisdiction of HYDRAA will cover the area leading up to the Outer Ring Road (ORR) and which is co-terminus with the tri police commissionerates of Hyderabad, Cyberabad and Rachakonda.
These areas are difficult to process and monitor, especially for regular police stations which have other types of cases to also process.
Public can also call 9000113667 if they find someone dumping construction waste in water bodies across Hyderabad.
