Drone ban imposed around Miss World 2025 venue in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Temporary ban on drones for the Miss World 2025 event, says Cyberabad police

Hyderabad: In preparation for the Miss World 2025 grand finale scheduled to take place on May 9 at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium, the Cyberabad police have issued a temporary ban on the use of drones and other unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in the area.

UAV Restrictions Announced

According to an official notification from the Cyberabad Commissioner of Police, the operation of drones is strictly prohibited within a 5-kilometre radius of the event venue. The restriction will be in effect from May 4 to June 2.

The police have invoked Section 22 of the Indian Aircraft Act, 1934, along with relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), Hyderabad City Police Act, and the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) to enforce this regulation.

Security Measure for International Event

Officials said the measure is part of a broader security plan aimed at ensuring the safety of international delegates, dignitaries, and participants expected to attend the event.

Coordination With Event Organisers

Event organisers for Miss World 2025 are coordinating closely with law enforcement to implement a comprehensive security framework. The high-profile beauty pageant is expected to draw attention from media, celebrities, and global visitors.

The drone restriction is one of several protocols being introduced to secure the area in the lead-up to the finale and during the days following the event.

Advisory for the Public

Residents, media, and commercial drone operators have been advised to refrain from using UAVs in the restricted zone. Violations of the order may result in legal action under the cited laws.

The public has been urged to cooperate with authorities to ensure the smooth and safe conduct of the international event.
