Hyderabad: In a way to maintain drug-free environment, Gandhi Hospital, along with Chilakalaguda police have stepped up an initiative to prevent the use of intoxicants within the hospital premises.
For the last three months, teams have been checking relatives and patient attendants entering the hospital, using substances such as beedis, cigarettes, gutka tobacco, liquor bottles, and toddy bottles.
For the last few years, use of intoxicant substances in the hospital premises. The teams have seized huge quantity of drugs found near those people.
On Wednesday, in the presence of Superintendent M. Raja Rao and Inspector Naresh, the seized drugs were burnt as a measure to deter others from bringing intoxicants into the hospital.
"The move is expected to send a strong message to visitors that the hospital is committed to maintaining a drug-free environment and prioritizing the health and safety of patients", said Superintendent.
