Identified as Srinivas Rao, he is the head constable of Telangana Police's Intelligence Wing.

Police said he was riding a motorbike under the influence of alcohol when the incident occurred.

Srinivas was on a motorbike registered in the name of the police department. He rammed his bike into the scooty causing injuries to a girl. After the incident, he tried to run away from the spot but was rounded up by the passersby and handed over to the police.

Even at the police station too, he reportedly created ruckus and warned the cops with dire consequences. Meerpet police registered a case against him under sections 337 and 308 of the IPC and 185 of the MV act.

On Monday night, Palamur Chandra Shekar, a resident of Balapur and working as a Teacher in Government ZP School was on his way home along with his daughter P Saramu, 14.
