Hyderabad: The Durgam Cheruvu Run 2023 is being organised by the Inorbit Mall authorities on 29 January between 4 a.m. and 9 a.m. in the limits of Madhapur and Raidurgam traffic police stations. The event has three categories—21 km, 10 km, and 5 km run—and will have approximately 4,500 runners. It will also have other 350 to 400 ancillary staff, including organisers and volunteers. VIPS are also expected to take part in the event.

Marathon details

1) 5K run: Inorbit mall–cable bridge–Road No. 45 down ramps U-turn–up ramp–cable bridge straight–ITC Kohinoor–My Home Abbra junction–C gate junction–right turn–ends inside Mind Space.

2) 10K run: Inorbit mall–cable bridge–straight–Road No. 45 flyover straight–enters Hyderabad city limits–returns back to Road No. 45 flyover–cable bridge–lane beside ITC Kohinoor–right turn–Knowledge City–T-Hub–right turn–C gate–ends inside Mind Space.

3) Half marathon (21.1 km): Inorbit mall–cable bridge–straight to Road no. 45 flyover–enter Hyderabad city limits–return to Road no. 45 flyover–cable bridge–ITC Kohinoor side lane–right tum–Knowledge City–T-Hub junction–left turn–road behind Sky View building–U-turn at road opposite to Orian Villa–T-Hub–left at My Home Bhooja lane–- turn–T-Hub–left turn–IOCL road–U-turn–T-Hub–left turn–C gate–U-turn–T-Hub–left turn–Knowledge City road–left turn–ITC Kohinoor adjacent road–left turn–IKEA flyover– Meenakshi junction–left turn–Shilpa Layout flyover down ramp–U-turn–Shilpa Layout flyover up ramp–left turn–Meenakshi junction–right turn–IKEA flyover–immediate left–C gate–ends inside Mind Space.

In order to ensure smooth flow of traffic, the following traffic diversions will be made on 29 January between 4 a.m. and 10 a.m.:

1. The traffic coming from Kavuri Hills, COD junction towards Biodiversity junction via Durgam Cheruvu will be diverted at COD junction–Cyber Tower junction–left turn–Lemon Tree junction–IKEA underpass–towards NCB junction.

2. The traffic coming from Road No. 45 via cable bridge will be diverted near Road No. 45 towards Madhapur L&O PS–left turn–COD junction–Cyber Towers–left turn–Lemon Tree junction–IKEA underpass–towards NCB junction.

3. The road adjacent to ITC Kohinoor, C gate road, IOCL road, My Home Abhra lane, My Home Bhooja lane, Sky View lane, and Orion Villa opposite new road towards T-Hub will be closed.

4. The traffic coming from Biodiversity to AIG hospital via IKEA rotary will be diverted at IKEA rotary–Cyber Towers–left turn–HITEX junction–Kothaguda junction–left turn–Rolling Hills–AIG Hospital.

5. The traffic coming from Gachibowli junction to IKEA rotary via under Shilpa Layout flyover will be diverted towards Biodiversity junction–left turn–IKEA rotary.

6. The traffic coming from Rolling Hills towards Jubilee Hills via IKEA flyover will be diverted at IKEA rotary–left turn–Lemon Tree junction–Cyber Towers–right turn–COD junction–Neeru’s junction–Jubilee Hills.

Commuters are advised to follow the advisory to avoid traffic congestion.

Restrictions on heavy vehicles on these routes

On 29 January, from 4 a.m. to 11 a.m., heavy vehicles like trucks, lorries, DCMs, RMCs, and water tankers will not be allowed in the limits of Madhapur and Raidurgam traffic police stations in view of the Durgam Cheruvu Marathon on the following roads:

1. Kavuri Hills junction to Kothaguda junction via Cyber Towers junction.

2. Cyber Tower junction to Biodiversity junction.

3. COD junction to AIG Hospital.
