Every electricity department employee on alert

Even as the demand and consumption of electricity is drastically increasing due to the current summer season, Musharraf Ali Faruqui has asked every electricity department officer in the State to ensure that there is no disruption in power supply.

He was speaking at a review meeting with participation from the chief general manager, superintending engineers and divisional engineers at the headquarters of the company.

On Saturday, the demand of 4,209 megawatts was recorded and the consumption is also more than 90 million units, the CMD of TSSPDCL said in a statement.

More engineers and infrastructure assigned

He said that till the end of this season, one engineer should be appointed in charge of every 11 KV on a shift-job basis. “In connection with this, around 300 engineers working in the company’s head office, other circle and zonal offices have also been appointed for operation duties.”

The CMD also ordered the accounting staff working in the circle office to be assigned operational duties. He said that 4,353 additional distribution transformers have been installed because of summer demand.

In addition, another 250 distribution transformers have been made available at the field-level offices. Where necessary, the electricity personnel have been ordered to arrange them on a war footing and ensure there is no inconvenience to the consumers.

Pattern continuing from March 2024
