Hyderabad: Hyderabad Traffic Police has announced major traffic diversions and road closures to facilitate the construction of an elevated corridor between Paradise Junction and Dairy Farm Road on National Highway 44.
The restrictions will come into effect from October 30 and are expected to continue for about nine months.
Rajiv Gandhi Statue–Balamrai stretch closed both ways
According to an advisory issued by the Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic), D. Joel Davis said that the stretch between Rajiv Gandhi Statue Junction and Balamrai will remain completely closed in both directions throughout the construction period.
The police have urged motorists to plan their travel and use alternate routes to avoid congestion.
Alternate routes for commuters
To ease traffic movement, vehicles coming from Balanagar towards Panjagutta or Tank Bund have been advised to take the Tadbund – Mastan Café – Diamond Point – Mudfort – NCC – JBS route.
Similarly, traffic from Suchitra heading towards the same destinations can use the Safe Express – Bapuji Nagar – Centre Point – Diamond Point – Mudfort – NCC – JBS SBI route.
Diversions around CTO Junction
Motorists travelling from Tank Bund, Ranigunj, Panjagutta, Rasoolpura, or Plaza towards Tadbund via CTO Junction will be diverted at the Rajiv Gandhi Statue Junction towards Anna Nagar – Balamrai – Tadbund.
Residents of Anna Nagar proceeding towards Panjagutta or Tank Bund are advised to use inner bylanes such as Meeting Point bylane, Hockey Ground bylane, and Law and Order Police Station bylane, or proceed via Balamrai to reach their destinations.
Congestion likely on Balamrai–CTO stretch
The Balamrai–CTO stretch is expected to experience heavy congestion due to the ongoing works. The police have requested commuters to avoid the area and follow diversions strictly to ensure smooth traffic movement.
