Encroachment foiled: HYDRAA protects 1,253.8 sq yards park land worth Rs 7 crore in Ameenpur
Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) on Sunday safeguarded a park land measuring 1,253.8 square yards, estimated to be worth Rs 7 crore, in Chakrapuri Colony under Ameenpur Municipality in Sangareddy district.
Complaint by residents triggers action
The action followed a complaint lodged by the Chakrapuri Colony Welfare Association during HYDRAA’s Prajavani programme, alleging that the park land earmarked for public use was facing encroachments.
Acting swiftly on the complaint, HYDRAA Commissioner A.V. Ranganath directed officials to conduct a field inspection.
Park land legally reserved for public use
HYDRAA officials, along with concerned department officers, verified records on the ground and confirmed that the land, located in Survey No. 135 of Ameenpur village, spans 1,253.8 square yards.
As per Gift Settlement Deed No. 12343/2022 dated March 31, 2022, the land was formally handed over by the layout developers to local authorities for public use.
The park area was earmarked under HUDA layout approval LP No. 3814/MP2/HUDA/85, specifically for parks and road development.
Boundary stones removed, encroachment attempt noted
During inspection, officials found that the boundary stones marking the park limits had been removed, raising concerns over possible encroachment. HYDRAA immediately intervened to secure the site.
Fencing and Boards installed
To prevent further encroachments, HYDRAA erected protective fencing around the entire park area and installed boards clearly identifying the land as a public park.
Residents express gratitude
Local residents welcomed the action and expressed their gratitude to HYDRAA officials. Chanting slogans such as “HYDRAA Zindabad”, colony members hailed the agency for protecting valuable public land meant for community welfare.
