HC seeks Telangana govts report on MLA Srinivas Goud case

Hyderabad: On Thursday, the Telangana High Court issued notices to the Telangana state government seeking a report (a counter affidavit) on the case against V Srinivas Goud, MLA and minister in the BRS government, for suppressing and concealing information before the returning officer in Mahabubnagar.

Chaluvagali Raghavendra Raju had filed a petition before the Special Court for MPs and MLAs, Nampally in Hyderabad, asking the court to order the SHO of II Town Mahabubnagar police station to register a case against Srinivas Goud.

Later, on the directions of the special court, a case (FIR No 241/2023) was registered against Goud in the same police station.

The judge was hearing two criminal petitions: one filed by Rajendra Prasad, notary advocate, a resident of Mahabubnagar against officials for suppression of facts in the case. The second petition was a counter-petition filed by the officials to quash the FIR.

The officials mentioned in the FIR, registered at II Town PS in Mahabubnagar, include D Ronald Rose, IAS, former district collector and district election officer, Mahbubnagar, J Srinivas, additional collector Nalgonda, former RDO, Mahbubnagar, A Padma Shri, Medak and former deputy collector cum RDO, Mahbubnagar and S Venkat Rao, collector, Suryapet, former district collector, Mahbubnagar district and others.

The court adjourned the case by a week for filing counter affidavits.
