First load of Vaccination reaches Hyderabad

Hyderabad- Vaccination for COVID-19 reached Hyderabad- from Pune on 12 January morning. In Phase l, around 3 crore people especially the health care staff and frontline workers will be administered the vaccine.

The Central Government has earlier announced that the cost for administering the vaccine will be borne by the centre and not the state.
Telangana government has set up 1213 centers and 866 cold chain points for Covid vaccine rollout in the state

"The government has already made the necessary arrangements to give the vaccine in all the PHCs in the State. Arrangements are made to administer Covid Vaccine at 1213 Centres all over the state. 866 Cold Chain points have been created to transport the vaccine. Volunteers are ready at all the stages. A committee under the Chief Secretary will monitor the vaccination programme," said KCR.

The government of India has identified the Serum Institute's Covishield and Bharat Biotech's Covaxin as effective vaccines. Initially, ASHA workers, Anganwadi staff, Medical and health employees will be given the vaccine, later, front warriors during the Corona pandemic the police, security personnel, sanitary workers and other front line workers," he said.

Later, the vaccine would be administered to those above 50 years and people with comorbidities. Gram Sarpanches and Panchayat Secretaries should take the responsibility to get the people on a priority basis to the vaccination centers. Police Station House Officers and Sub Inspectors should take the responsibility of getting the vaccine for the police and other security personnel
