Hyderabad: The sleuths of the commissioner's task force, west zone team, apprehended a Flipkart delivery executive and two others on Saturday and seized hash/weed oil worth Rs. 55,000 from them.

Following a tip-off, the west zone task force police laid a trap and apprehended the three near Bangaru Maisamma temple in Rahmath Nagar.

The arrested are Bora Santosh of Srikakulam district in Andhra Pradesh, Kollapeynindi Shoban Shiva alias Chinnu of Mahaboob Nagar and Nethala Vijay Kumar. They were selling drugs to customers at Rahmath Nagar in the city. Twenty bottles of hash/weed oil, each bottle containing 5ml, were seized from their possession.

The supplier, Praveen (30), a resident of Kukatpally in the city, is absconding. He used to procure the contraband from the agency areas of Paderu village in Visakhapatnam district, Andhra Pradesh. The three accused hatched a plan to purchase hash/weed oil from Praveen and sell them to needy customers at higher rates.

The accused persons, along with the seized material, were handed over to the Jubilee Hills police station house officer for further action.

Update: Flipkart in its statement clarified that the individual allegedly involved in the above-said activity, is not an employee of the company and the transactions referred to in some media reports have nothing to do with Flipkart or its platform.

Flipkart further adds that the company is a responsible corporate entity and is deeply committed to complying with prevalent laws. Flipkart will provide full assistance to the concerned Law Enforcement Agency.
