From Lucknow chikankari to Kashmiri silk, here are 5 must-buys at Numaish 2023

Hyderabad: Numaish, one of the world’s oldest annual consumer exhibitions, is back after three long years, and it is off to a colourful start. This year, Numaish has 2,400 stalls at the maidan in Nampally.

From kolhapuris to suits and saris to jewellery, here are some must-buy items you should not miss:

Lucknow Chikankari

Chikankari is a traditional handmade embroidery that originated in the streets of Lucknow. Chikankari outfits are something women of all ages need to have in their wardrobes, for sure. They are available in cotton, chiffon, georgette, and khadi as well. At the chikankari stalls, make sure you polish your bargaining skills.

Budget: Rs. 800–7,000

Kashmiri silk

A lot of Kashmiri vendors set up stalls at Numaish every year where they offer a wide variety of saris. Who doesn’t love to wear lightweight saris with amazing floral, wild, and bold prints? Kashmiri silk is known for providing warmth, especially during the winter, as they are made to survive the freezing cold of Kashmir. Here too, make sure you bargain.

Budget: Rs. 1,000–5,000

Punjabi and Kolhapuri juttis

If you are someone who loves splurging on footwear, then make sure you buy at least four pairs of these juttis. Juttis can go with any outfit and can be worn on any occasion. Though these juttis are available in a few corners of Hyderabad, a wide range of varieties can be seen only at Numaish. Leather and embroidered shoes, sandals, and flats are available at these stalls that are owned by vendors from Punjab and Kolhapur.

Budget: Rs. 500–2,500

Oxidised and funky jewellery

For many college and office-going women, different types of jewellery that match their outfits are important. You will find many such pieces here at the exhibition at cheap prices. All you need is patience to find the stalls and find a place for yourself in the crowd. Earrings, necklaces, hairbands, bangles, anklets, bracelets, and whatnot, a variety of ornaments are available at these stalls.

Budget: Rs. 10–500

Crockery

These are one of the must-buys from Numaish. If you love collecting fancy and beautiful crockery for your cabinets, then make sure you carry some quality bags that can bear the weight of the crockery that are available in different shapes and colours. You can choose a single piece or packages too. Also, they are good options for gifting.

Budget: Rs. 150–5,000

Besides the above-mentioned things, you can even bring home toys, bags, home decor, etc.
