The city is gearing up for a visual extravaganza as it will host multiple kite festivals, each promising a unique and enchanting experience for residents and visitors alike.
From the International Kite and Sweet Festival at Secunderabad Parade Grounds, featuring international kite flyers and a delightful array of sweets, to the biggest kite festival at Heart Cup in Gandipet offering a mesmerising display of kites against the backdrop of ORO Sports Village, and the traditional kite flying feast by the Cyberabad Gujarati Association, these events bring together culture, tradition, and the timeless thrill of kite-flying.

1. International Kite & Sweet Festival
Venue: Secunderabad Parade Grounds, Hyderabad
Date: January 13
The Department of Tourism is hosting a three-day International Kite and Sweet Festival at the Secunderabad Parade Grounds from January 13. This event, organised after a three-year hiatus, features 40 international kite flyers from 16 countries and 60 national kite club members. The festival showcases diverse kite designs and offers a delightful array of national and international sweets.
2. Kite Festival 2024 at Heart Cup, Gandipet
Venue: Heart Cup Coffee, Gandipet
Date: January 15
Scheduled for January 15 from 10 am to 6 pm, the biggest kite festival in Hyderabad unfolds at Heart Cup Coffee in Gandipet. Expert kite flyers will paint the sky with vibrant hues, creating a mesmerising spectacle. The event caters to seasoned enthusiasts and first-time flyers, with an expansive area at ORO Sports Village for kite-flying. A kids play area ensures a vibrant experience for young adventurers, featuring games, activities, face painting, and inflatable castles.
3. CGA Kite Carnival 2024
Venue: Cyberabad Gujarati Association (CGA), Cyberabad Region
The 12th Edition of the traditional kite flying feast by CGA on January 14, celebrates Uttarayan - Makar Sankranti. This event, successfully organised since 2012, offers a unique experience for kite flying enthusiasts in the Cyberabad region. Everyone, including non-Gujaratis, is welcome to join the fest, which includes a traditional Gujarati lunch, high tea, and various fun-filled activities. Donor pass fees cover entry, lunch, and high tea for one person.
