Hyderabad: An alleged rape of two sisters at Gandhi Hospital has turned out to be cock-and-bull-story after cops recovered one of the missing victims.

The rape case at Gandhi Hospital in Secunderabad had sent shock waves across the city in the last one week.

The complainant had alleged that she and her sister were locked in a where they were allegedly drugged and raped by a lab technician. Although she said that she managed to escape and approach the police, her sister is missing.

The complainant, 38, and her sister, 40, had come to the hospital for the treatment of her brother-in-law on August 5. On August 13, the brother-in-law was discharged and he left for home with his son.

In the meantime, both sisters disappeared mysteriously. When the son came back, he found his aunt drugged, while his mother was missing.

She alleged that while she was at the hospital, she lost her way and asked the accused for help. Taking advantage, he directed her into a room where he drugged and raped two sisters.

The woman approached Mahabubnagar police, but cops asked them to approach Hyderabad since the area does not fall under their jurisdiction.

Hyderabad police watched 800 hours of CCTV footage collected from 500 cameras and questioned 200 witnesses.

Police later recovered the elder of the two sisters found near a toddy compound in Narayanguda on Thursday. The investigation team found evidence of struggle assault.

"Both the women are addicted to toddy. They stayed in Gandhi Hospital for 10 days and they were not able to find Toddy. One sister remained inside the hospital, while another went out to buy Toddy. She proceeded to Murshidabad. On her return, she lost her way. She told us that there was no sexual assault. Medical examination of women confirmed that there was not an assault," G Naresh, inspector, Chilkalguda police station told NewsMeter.

Police were suspicious about Vijaya Kishore, the security staffer of the Gandhi Hospital who went missing after they started investigating the case.

During a detailed interrogation, he apparently admitted to having sex with the elder sister but maintained that it was consensual.
