Hyderabad: To ensure devotees have seamless access to Ganesh immersion sites, Hyderabad Metro Rail will operate trains at 6 am on September 6, ahead of the usual schedule, and the last trains will depart all terminal stations at 1 am on September 7 (Sunday).

Extended timings for festive rush

This overnight extension is aimed at giving commuters flexibility as immersion events continue late into the night.

Officials said the extra-late services during the festivities are intended to ease congestion on city roads and make travel safer for thousands joining the processions.

Extra staff and crowd control measures

According to Metro Rail management, additional personnel will be deployed across key stations. Crowd flow will be monitored, and safety protocols tightened to handle the higher footfall expected during the final immersion day.

Relief for devotees and daily commuters

The extension is designed to reduce the strain on road transport and allow families attending immersion ceremonies to return home comfortably. Officials noted that regular announcements and guidance will be provided to help passengers plan their trips better.

Civic coordination

Hyderabad Metro is working with the traffic police and civic authorities to align train schedules with procession routes, ensuring smooth movement around major immersion points.
