Hyderabad: In view of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Election scheduled on December 1st, the District Collectorate has announced public holiday on the for all Government Offices, Local bodies and Educational institutions in Hyderabad.
In an order issued on November 24, the District Magistrate said that "In connection with the conduct of ordinary elections to Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, 2020 on the day of the poll, in Government Offices, Local bodies and Educational institutions in Hyderabad it is declared a public holiday."
Earlier Telangana government has announced a public holiday on November 20. The government said, "A public holiday has been declared to all the employees/workers serving in the factories, shops, and establishments and industrial undertaking located in the Greater Hyderabad. The holiday has been declared with an aim to encourage voters to exercise their electoral right".
