GHMC mayoral elections scheduled for 11 February
Telangana State Election Commissioner C. Partha Sarathi, on 22 January, announced that the election for Mayor and Deputy Mayor for the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) will be held on 11 February.

Hyderabad: Telangana State Election Commissioner C. Partha Sarathi, on 22 January, announced that the election for Mayor and Deputy Mayor for the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) will be held on 11 February.
The commissioner also said that if for any reason the election cannot be held on 11 February, it will be conducted on 12 February.
The process for the election will start on 6 February with the notice to be given by the district collector authorized by the election authority and Commissioner, GHMC, calling for a special meeting for the conduct of election to the offices of Mayor and Deputy Mayor. This notice will be given to all the GHMC members.
The commissioner also clarified that unless the mayoral election is completed, the election for deputy Mayor cannot be held.
