Hyderabad: Canvassing for Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) election will end at 6 pm on Sunday.
State Election Commission (SEC) said no person shall convene, hold, attend, join, or address any public meeting or procession in any polling area during the period of 48 hours prior to the hour fixed for the poll.
The SEC also said that no person or political parties shall display anything related to the election by means of cinematography on the television or other similar apparatus. "No person shall propagate any election matter to the public by holding, or by arranging the holding of, any musical concert or any theatrical performance or any other entertainment or amusement with a view to attracting the members of the public," said SEC.
The SEC warned that any contravention of the provision of law is an offence punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to two years under section 600(2) of GHMC Act, 1955.
On the last day of the campaigning, all the political parties are trying to hold rallies in different parts of the city. Union minister of home affairs Amit Shah is visiting the city to hold a roadshow.
