GHMC Polls: Now, voters can apply for postal ballot papers 4 days before poll date

Hyderabad: The Telangana State Election Commission, on 24 November, modified the period to apply for postal ballot papers to four days prior to the day of the poll.
Earlier, voters could apply for postal ballot papers seven days before the elections.
The postal paper ballots are for people with disability (PwD), for people 80 years of age and above, and persons who have tested positive for COVID-19 after 1 November.
The commissioner and election authority, GHMC, has requested an increase in the time period to apply for the postal ballot papers and modify the circular to mention 'at least four days prior to the day of poll.'
The person applying for a postal ballot can visit the SEC official website, www.tsec.gov.in. The returning officer or deputy commissioner of GHMC will send the postal ballot to their address.
The GHMC will go on poll on 1 December and the counting is on 4 December.
