GHMC Polls Final Result: TRS wins 55 seats, BJP 48 seats, AIMIM 44 seats, Congress 2 seats

The counting of the votes of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation(GHMC) polls begins at 8 am on 4th December.

GHMC Polls Final Result: TRS wins 55 seats, BJP 48 seats,  AIMIM 44 seats, Congress 2 seats

The counting of the votes of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation(GHMC) polls began at 8 am on 4th December. The officials began with postal ballots in which the BJP party was leading in several wards in postal ballots. A total of 1,962 postal ballot votes were counted, the majority of the postal ballot votes went to BJP.

Final Result

BJP has made huge ground in Hyderabad. The party won this time by 12 fold as compared to 2016 elections. TRS Secured 55 seats, BJP secured 48 seats, AIMIM secured 44 seats and Congress secured 2 seats.

TRS has won in 37 seats, BJP has won in 22 seats, AIMIM won in 35 seats and Congress in 2 seats.

TRS is leading in 34 seats, BJP is leading in 14 seats, AIMIM is leading in 4 seats and Congress is leading in 1 seat.

According to GHMC officials, TRS has won 16 seats, AIMIM 17 has won seats, BJP has won 5 seats and congress has won 2 seats.

Out of total 149 seats, TRS is leading in 70 seats, AIMIM is leading in 44 seats, BJP is leading in 31 seats and Congress is leading in 4 seats in AS Rao candidate Shirisha Rao who won by 4,397 votes against BJP candidate. TRS came third in AS Rao Nagar.

TRS candidate and Deputy Mayor Baba Fasiuddin from Borabanda won the election. TRS is leading in 62 seats, AIMIM is leading in 31 seats, BJP is leading in 22 seats while Congress is leading in 3 seats.

After the opening of ballot boxes, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi is leading in 17 seats while Bharatiya Janata Party leads in 4 seats.

In ballot-counting TRS is leading in 8 seats while BJP is leading in 2 seats and AIMIM is also leading in 1 seat.

The postal ballot counting is completed in most of the divisions. The ballot counting will start in these divisions. After the counting of postal ballots, BJP is leading in 85 seats, TRS is leading in 37 seats, AIMIM is leading in 17 seats while Congress is leading on 2 seats after completion of postal ballots.

BJP is leading in 88 seats, TRS is leading in 34 seats while AIMIM is leading in 17 seats and Congress is leading on only 2 seats in postal ballots.

Ballot boxes to be opened. Votes of 25 each bundle to be made and the counting process will start at 11 am.

Telangana High Cour on Friday directed that If a number of votes cast using 'distinguished mark' are more than 100 votes in a ward, the result should be kept pending.


The Telangana High Court order keeping aside the SEC circular, declaring ballot papers with 'distinguish mark' other than instrument as valid.

BJP is steadily getting way ahead of TRS. BJP is leading in 88 seats, TRS is leading in 34 seats while AIMIM is leading in 18 seats and Congress is leading in 2 seats in postal ballots.

The postal ballot results are almost completed in which BJP leads in 82 seats, TRS leads in 34 seats while AIMIM leads in 18 seats. Congress is leading in 1 seat.

The election is three-way battle between Telangana Rashtra Samithi, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen and Bharatiya Janata Party. In 2016, GHMC polls, TRS secured 99 seats while AIMIM secured 44 seats and BJP only got 4 seats. BJP did a full swing campaign for 2020 elections in which the Union Minister of Home Affairs, Amit Shah, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and BJP President JP Nadda did roadshows in the city.
