GHMC receives 22% excess rainfall this monsoon

From 1 June to 5 September, the municipal area has received 595.1 mm of rainfall against the normal 484.7 mm with a deviation of 22.8 percent.
Meanwhile, the state average cumulative rainfall for the same period is 788.6 mm against the normal 615.8 mm with a deviation of 28 percent. On Sunday, The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy to very heavy rain in isolated places in Telangana for the next three days.
Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are likely to occur in isolated places in many districts during the next three days. Light to moderate rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at most places or at a few places in Telangana during the next five days, IMD's bulletin said.
Southwest monsoon has been active in Telangana for the last 24 hours. Very heavy rainfall occurred at isolated places in Kamareddy and Rajanna Sircilla and heavy rainfall occurred in isolated places in Siddipet, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Karimnagar, Mahabubnagar, Rangareddy, Wanaparthy, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Adilabad, and Medak districts of Telangana during the same period. Rain occurred at most places in Telangana during the last 24 hours, the bulletin added.
