GHMC repairs 10,962 potholes in Hyderabad ahead of Ganesh immersion traffic
Hyderabad: As part of the ongoing initiative, GHMC said that it has successfully repaired 10,962 out of the 13,616 identified potholes, with work on the remaining stretches progressing swiftly in view of the festive season.

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation said it has intensified its special road safety and repair drive to address damage caused by recent heavy rains.

Repairs in time for Ganesh idol immersion
Commissioner RV Karnan has directed the Engineering Wing to expedite completion of all repairs ahead of the Ganesh idol immersion processions to ensure smooth traffic flow.
The drive is not limited to arterial routes alone but extends to internal roads and even portions of the national highway within GHMC limits.
As part of the comprehensive road safety campaign, today repair works have been carried out in areas such as Krishna Nagar, Nampally, Banjara Hills, Jubilee Hills, Machabollaram, Lakdikapul, Erramanzil and Jawaharpura.
In addition to pothole repairs, GHMC has completed 544 catch pit restorations, 311 catch pit cover replacements, and 12 central median repair works, strengthening road infrastructure across the city.

To accelerate progress, divisional engineering teams have been deployed with the use of both asphalt and concrete solutions. Zone-wise progress has also been noteworthy:
LB Nagar Zone: 2,455 potholes repaired out of 2,934 identified
Charminar Zone: 1,890 repaired out of 2,289
Khairatabad Zone: 1,424 repaired out of 1,802
Serilingampally Zone: 1,302 repaired out of 1,938
Kukatpally Zone: 1,737 repaired out of 1,972
Secunderabad Zone: 2,154 repaired out of 2,681

Reiterating GHMC’s commitment to civic safety and commuter convenience, Karnan emphasised that road repair works must be completed on a war footing before the Ganesh immersion processions commence.
