Golconda Area Hospital to add another 120 beds in 3 weeks
By Newsmeter Network Published on 8 May 2021 11:45 AM GMTHyderabad: Telangana chief secretary Somesh Kumar visited the Golconda Area Hospital on 8 May and announced that as per the instructions of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao a new floor with 120 beds will be made available in three weeks.
Mr. Kumar inspected the second-dose vaccination drive at the hospital and interacted with the people and staff there. He said that people who have received the first dose of the vaccine can go to any government vaccination centre on 10, 11, and 12 May for the second dose.
He was informed that each vaccination took a maximum time of 15 minutes. The vaccinated person was then kept under observation for 30 minutes. They were able to return to their homes within 40-45 minutes and the whole process was hassle-free, they said.
While inspecting the wards, Mr. Kumar was informed that the wards have been fixed with oxygen pipeline and soon 100 beds with oxygen supply will be available. Some of the beds were earmarked for maternity and emergency purpose, the officials told the chief secretary, adding that work on the new floor was in progress.
The chief secretary also interacted with the superintendent, RMO, and doctors of the hospital and thanked them for their services.
