Hyderabad: Noted folksinger and Telangana State Warehousing Corporation (TSWC) Chairman Saichand died of a heart attack at his farmhouse in Karukonda of Nagar Kurnool district on Thursday morning. He was 39.

Saichand and his family members had gone to a farmhouse on Wednesday evening.

Later in the night, he complained of discomfort and was rushed to a private hospital in Nagar Kurnool for treatment. He was shifted to Gachibowli Care Hospital for better treatment. However, he died en route to the hospital.

Born at Amarchinta of Wanaparthy district on September 20, 1984, Saichand was holding a master's degree. A famous folk artist, he pursued his passion from his student days.

In the second phase of the Telangana movement, he raised the morale of the people through his song and dance. He has been actively creating awareness on the development and welfare programs of the BRS party.

He composed inspirational songs and sang many songs since the Telangana movement. Meetings were treated as incomplete without Saichand singing.

In December 2021, Saichand was appointed as the Chairman of the Telangana State Warehouse Corporation.

Ministers, BRS leaders, and many people posted emotional messages on social media. Minister for Medical and Health T Harish Rao who rushed to pay homage to Sai Chand got emotional on his death.

"A great artist and a humble soul our Sai was. Gone way too soon, brother. We will miss you and that amazing voice that moved many people," IT Minister KTR tweeted.
