H-CITI project: GHMC to fast-track land acquisition for flyovers, underpasses near KBR Park
Hyderabad: GHMC Commissioner RV Karnan on Tuesday conducted an on-site review of the stretch from Jubilee Hills Road No. 2 to Jubilee Hills Check Post, a key zone under the H-CITI initiative.
During the inspection, he directed officials to expedite land acquisition and ensure the swift commencement of works while maintaining high standards of execution.
He also stressed the importance of coordinating with the Traffic Police to reduce inconvenience to commuters during construction.
Major upgrades planned around KBR Park
As part of the H-CITI initiative, seven crucial junctions around KBR Park are slated for development. Plans include 4.6 km of flyovers and 2.8 km of underpasses, aimed at easing traffic congestion in one of Hyderabad’s busiest areas and improving overall commuter experience.
Commitment to sustainable urban development
Commissioner Karnan emphasised that these projects reflect Hyderabad’s vision for safer, smoother and more efficient commutes.
“This initiative underscores the city’s proactive approach toward sustainable urban growth and modern infrastructure,” he said.
The inspection was attended by Khairatabad Zonal Commissioner Anuraag Jayanthi, Chief Engineer (Projects) Bhaskar Reddy, and Jubilee Hills Deputy Commissioner V. Sammaiah, who reviewed project progress and offered inputs alongside the Commissioner.
