Hyderabad: Police urged the organisers to be vigilant about any new individuals in the procession of Hanuman Jayanti
Hyderabad: Emphasizing on keeping a peaceful atmosphere during the upcoming Hanuman Jayanti scheduled for April 12, CV Anand IPS DG Commissioner of Police urged the organisers to be vigilant about any new individuals joining the procession and to promptly inform the local police as a precautionary measure. He requested their cooperation with the traffic police to avoid any traffic congestion during the yatra.
A coordination meeting was held on Wednesday with officials from various government departments and the organisers of the Sri Veera Hanuman Vijaya Yatra concerning the arrangements for the event.
Height of idols and DJ systems
Specific guidelines were provided to the organisers regarding the height of the idols, advising them to ensure that no idol exceeds the height of the railway bridge to avoid route diversions. He appealed to the organisers to refrain from using DJ systems during the procession, highlighting the benefits of minimising noise pollution for the health and well-being of the public and devotees, suggesting the use of large sound boxes without sound mixers instead.
Considering the weather forecast from the Meteorological Department indicating potential rainfall on Saturday, Anand instructed the GHMC and the traffic police to take necessary precautionary measures. He also directed the relevant police authorities to be informed about the number of people and vehicles participating in the procession.
Furthermore, he advised the organisers to provide adequate training to their rope party members (volunteers) and to utilise their services effectively, suggesting the deployment of a greater number of volunteers. He assured that adhering to the specified route would ensure a smooth procession. The organizers were asked to verify the suitability of tusker vehicles for navigating through narrow streets in advance.
No drones without permission
Drawing upon past experiences, Anand stressed the need for restraint during the return journey after the Vijaya Yatra concludes. He also clarified that the use of drone cameras is prohibited without prior authorization from the police department.
Providing an overview of the scale of the event, he informed that approximately 150 Sri Veera Hanuman Vijaya Yatras are scheduled within the Hyderabad City Police Commissionerate limits, with an additional 46 Yatras originating from the Cyberabad and Rachakonda limits, all of which will converge into the main procession. He cautioned against believing or spreading rumours and provocative or fake messages on social media. He announced the deployment of 17,000 police personnel along with additional armed forces by the Hyderabad City Police for the Sri Veera Hanuman Vijaya Yatra.
A joint control room will be established at the Hyderabad City Police Commissioner's Office, ICCC Building, Banjara Hills, commencing operations from 8 am. This control room will serve as a central point where officers from various departments will be available to provide appropriate advice and assistance in case of any issues.
Route inspected
Following the meeting, Anand, accompanied by officers and organizers from various departments, inspected the main Vijaya Yatra procession route, commencing from Sri Rama Mandir, Gouli Guda, and proceeding through Narayana Guda, RTC Chowrasta, Ashok Nagar, Kavadi Guda, Bible House, culminating at Tad Bund Hanuman Temple, covering a distance of approximately 12.2 km.
