Harassed by drug suppliers, woman approaches Bachupally SHE Team, TSNAB for help; 3 held

The police seized 10 grams of cocaine, 13 grams of MDMA, five mobile phones and one four-wheeler all worth around Rs 25 lakh from their possession

Hyderabad: Unable to bear harassment from a drug supplier, a woman, who has become addicted to narcotics, knocked on the doors of Women Police Station (WPS), Bachupally, SHE Teams (Cyberabad) and also approached a constable of the Telangana State Anti-Narcotics Bureau (TSNAB) for help.

The police investigation following her rescue led to the arrest of three drug suppliers and one user. Three other accused are at large.

After witnessing the pathetic condition, the woman was living in, the Gachibowli Police, SOT Madhapur, and the State Task Force of TSNAB orchestrated a massive surveillance operation. The Cyberabad Police and TSNAB kept her in sight through electronic monitoring.

As per the probe, the police came to know about Bengaluru Suleiman, an exploiter, and Shaik Arman and Azeem, a resident of Bengaluru, who supplied the woman with drugs. They also came to know about Faisal, from Hyderabad and currently based in Goa (perhaps in Colvale Jail), Arqaman, and Abdullah, a resident of Musheerabad.

The police said that the woman frequented bars such as Club Rock, Artistry Pub, and Air-Live Pub. Here, Suleiman became her friend and began giving her free MDMA and cocaine from Mumbai. She got addicted and also came in contact with other drug users. She gave the police around 20 names. “We have conducted a urine dope test for them, three turned positive for cocaine and ganja out of the nine we tested from the list,” the police said.

Accused details

The accused were identified as Suleman Bin Abubakar (31), a drug peddler and a resident of Sriram Nagar in Yousufguda; Shaik Armaan (34), a drug peddler and a resident of Humayun Nagar in Mehdipatnam; Arqamum Hussain (27), drug peddler, a resident of Zahera Nagar, Road No 10, Banjara Hills; Mithuna (37), a drug consumer and resident of Nizampet; Konagala Priya (36), a homemaker, resident of Kukatpally and Dr Challa Chaitanya (41), a doctor at KIMS Hospital, Kondapur, Gachibowli.

Three more drug suppliers identified as Osman aka Faizal, a resident of Goa; Azeem, (38), a resident of Bangalore and Abdulla aka Abdul Rehman, (30), a resident of Musheerabad are absconding, the police said.

Case details

The three primary drug dealers - Suleman Bin Abubakar, Shaik Armaan, and Arqamum Hussain - are friends and sell narcotics. All of them move around and get introduced to new people at pubs like Novatel Artistry, Air-Live, Club Rock etc., to expand their drug business.

They made contact with drug users including Mithuna, Priya, Ratan, Sahil, and others, providing them with narcotics at a rate of Rs 15,000 per gram of cocaine and Rs 8,000 per gram of MDMA as needed.

Upon investigation, the aforementioned accused disclosed that they had ties to drug suppliers in Goa and Bengaluru. They obtain narcotics in large quantities from Goa through reliable sources, and Abdulla aka Abdul Rehman, provides them with cocaine and MDMA.

Additionally, they purchase medications at a reduced cost from Azeem, which they then resell to customers in Hyderabad for a greater price. On January 30, Suleman Bin Abubakar and Shaik Armaan travelled to Bengaluru and they purchased 10 grams of cocaine and thirteen grams of MDMA from Azeem.

The accused Mithuna placed an order for two grams of cocaine from the aforementioned accused parties on February 2. The sleuths of TSNAB along with Gachibowli Police on credible information apprehended four persons, who had narcotics i.e. cocaine and MDMA and trying to sell the same to needy customers near a vacant land, opp My Home Vivanga Apartment, TNGOs Colony, Serilingampally, Rangareddy District.

Of them, three are drug suppliers and one customer. The police seized 10 grams of cocaine, 13 grams of MDMA, five mobile phones and one four-wheeler all worth around Rs 25 lakh from their possession.

Public advisory

In recent times we have seen several youth/students getting addicted to drugs, committing crimes and involving in other anti-social activities. Several families have become victims of this menace. It is an ardent request from the TSNAB to the youth/students not to fall prey to drugs and request the parents to keep a watch on the activities of their children and feel free to approach police or pass information to police on 8712671111 to curtail such anti-social activities and strive for a drug-free city.
