Hyderabad: The Hayathnagar police on Saturday nabbed two notorious burglars who had committed several offences and recovered gold and silver ornaments from them worth Rs. 18 lakh.
On Saturday morning, the police arrested Dasari Jampaiah (22) and Angadi Raju (22) ā both residents of Mahaboobabad district ā at Raghavendar Colony in Hayathnagar. Another accused, Aanareddy Ravi, is absconding. The cops seized 300 grams of gold, 3,200 grams of silver ornaments, and a motorbike from the two men.
The three men have been involved in 18 cases, of which 13 are in the Rachakonda commissionerate and 10 in the Hayathnagar police station area. Other cases have been registered in Medak, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Abdullapurmet, Vanasthalipuram, Toopran, Kamepalli, Manuguru, and Tekulapally.
In 2019, Ravi had been arrested by the Chegunta and Bibipet police in Medak district in a house burglary case while the Chandanagar police had arrested Raju, an auto driver, in 2016 in an automobile theft case.
On 15 June, the three accused had broken into a house in the Peddamberpet area and stolen gold and silver ornaments while the residents were away attending a funeral in Nagar Kurnool.
After receiving credible information, the police on Saturday arrested the two men.
